Green foods support detox

I follow "bluezones" on Instagram. If you're not familiar with the Blue Zones, they are basically areas of the world where people live the longest, healthiest, happiest lives. Here's a graphic that shows the 9 common areas that people all over the world share who live these long and healthy lives:

Yesterday bluezones posted an interesting photo with a caption that is supporting what I am trying to do: detox with green foods.

"Green foods get their color from chlorophyll, a natural blood purifier that supports the liver and kidneys in the elimination of toxins. Among many other nutrients, green foods also contain high amounts of vitamin K, a nutrient that further benefits your blood by helping it to clot properly. One large green tomato provides about 10% of your daily requirement for the B vitamins thiamin, vitamin B-6 and pantothenic acid, as well as a little less than 10% of the riboflavin and niacin you need each day."

This has been a consistent theme with the things I've read, and is a good reminder about why I need to be eating my greens!
